Kim San Kuan is a real simple guy. He was born in the year 1965 into a very poor family. From young Kim San was slow in primary school. He picked up momentum in academic achievement when he was in his secondary school. Kim San then proceeded to study engineering in Singapore.
Kim San once heard from a friend who told him: "Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality." These words remained in Kim San Kuan's mind for a while. A few years later he was told by a successful entrepreneur friend: "Slow down, find time to share what you have learned."
Kim San excelled in a career in marine seismic exploration industry. In 1992, Kim San Kuan joined Schlumberger's WesternGeco and had worked in international waters conducting complex marine seismic explorations for oil companies all over the world. In the first 10 years in this career path, Kim San Kuan had traveled extensively throughout Asia.
Kim San had backpacked in many countries and traveled where his job took him to. He traveled at leisure, in an unhurried pace. He mixed with the locals, ate the local food, learned to speak the local languages, blend in the local cultures.
For Kim San, the most memorable travel experiences included India, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Sri Lanka. Each country offered something unique. Kim San also traveled to Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, Canada, Cuba, New Zealand, Australia and a few countries in Africa and Europe.
Next post I will write a bit about Kim San Kuan's journey in self development.
